Why I love.....
MIA JUNE
I thought that occasionally I'd post about something or someone I love. There are times during the day that I think, "I really love...." and how I'd like to blog on that thing. So Mia is my first entry! She is my middle child and since I'm also a middle child, there is just something special about the bond we have. She is named after my maternal Grandma, June Lacivita, who had a major impact on my life.... especially my relationship with Jesus. Grandma was the one who was witness to me accepting Christ on a NET Ministries retreat in 1990 (more on that another day).
My good friend, Annmarie, prayed fervently that baby Mia would be a good sleeper (Allison was not!), and God answered her prayer. Mia loved her sleep as a baby and still does! She often asks to go down for a nap and she snuggles right in. If I am not being a very attentive mom, she'll just pass out on the nearest chair. She is the best snuggler around and loves her "special" time with mom in the rocking chair before bed.
Mia has a very strong will. Her older sister can be bribed to do just about anything, but not so much with the Miers. She knows what she wants! While this can be frustrating in these preschool years, I think it will serve her extremely well later in life.
Mia can melt your heart in a second with her sweet ways. Since she has had some struggles with speech, her new found words are a joy. She often sings to herself in the morning before calling to be gotten out of bed. She reads to babies and sings to the music while dancing.
Mia also has a soft spot for animals. While she is timid of some people and new places, she has never been scared of animals. She lights up when she gets to pet them and I know she will be begging for some kind of four-legged friend soon (too bad her mom is not an animal lover)!

This is Mia's namesake. I'm actually holding Allison in this picture. My grandma died before Mia was born.

Other things I love about Mia, Mimi-Junes, Miers:
* nose squishes
* how she says, "I forgive you" when she means to say "I'm sorry"
*how much she loves fruit
*that the only thing she asked for for Christmas was a lollipop (and that is all she wanted on Christmas morning, too)
*she insists on spitting after I brush her teeth, even though she still swallows first
*she never forgets a thing--watch out
*she is the best looker/finder in this entire household
